Vascular Nurse Practitioner – Southern Massachusetts, Outside Providence

  • Vascular Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant opportunity in an outpatient-focused vascular surgery practice
  • Join a team of five fellowship-trained, board-certified vascular surgeons working with NPs, PAs, and MAs
  • Mix of office-based vascular care and work connected to an in-office endovascular suite, vein center, and accredited vascular lab
  • Evaluate new referrals and follow-up patients
  • Order and interpret appropriate diagnostic studies
  • Prepare patients and families for angiography and surgical procedures
  • Manage post-operative patients and chronic vascular conditions
  • No night, weekend, or holiday call
  • Experience or interest in wound management, including minor debridement and thoughtful antibiotic use
  • Opportunity to be trained in minor procedures such as venous catheter removal
  • Knowledge of arterial and venous disease (carotid stenosis, stroke, aortic aneurysm, claudication, ischemic and venous ulcers, varicose veins) preferred
  • Sclerotherapy skills desirable
  • Willingness to learn basics of non-invasive vascular testing
  • Work closely and collegially with referring physicians, specialists, visiting nurses, and skilled nursing facilities
  • Provide patient and family education, risk-factor modification counseling, and medication management (including prescribing and refills)
  • Employed position with a large, multi-specialty medical group
  • Must be licensed as an NP or PA in the relevant states, hold DEA and state controlled substance registrations, and be trained in BLS and ACLS
  • Prefer 1–2 years of vascular disease experience plus strong communication skills, maturity, compassion, and problem-solving ability
  • Practice uses a modern EHR for scheduling, documentation, e-prescribing, and billing and participates in national quality initiatives and continuing education
  • Live in a classic New England region with access to coastal towns, historic neighborhoods, and a mix of urban, suburban, and rural communities
