– This role combines both outpatient clinical care and surgical responsibilities, offering a unique opportunity to provide comprehensive eye care to a diverse and underserved population. The ideal candidate will be committed to clinical excellence, surgical precision, and making a lasting impact in a rural health setting.
Preferred Experience:
– Proficiency in cataract surgery (phacoemulsification) and common anterior segment procedures.
– Ability to manage a full-spectrum ophthalmology caseload independently.
– Experience in or willingness to work in a rural or medically underserved setting.
– Excellent communication skills and a collaborative, team-based approach.
– Interest in mentoring or training staff or students
– Perform comprehensive ophthalmologic exams and provide diagnosis and management of eye diseases and visual disorders.
– Conduct surgical procedures, including (but not limited to) cataract extraction, eyelid surgeries, laser treatments, and other anterior segment surgeries.
– Manage pre-operative and post-operative care for surgical patients.
– Provide routine and urgent care for conditions such as glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, and trauma-related ocular injuries.
Compensation & Benefits:
– Base salary $246,000 – $650,000 (full-time)
– Hospital employed status (not-for-profit hospital)
– Negotiable salary; guaranteed base with incentive package
