Oncology NP/PA
The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) provides high-level patient care as a part of the clinical team. Under a licensed physician's direction, an Advanced Practice Provider provides direct patient care, including evaluating and examining new patients, managing patients undergoing treatment, and monitoring patients after treatment is complete.

Position Highlights:
– Join an established team of 18 APP’s and 12 Physicians
– Practice recognizes the value of work/life balance
– Current APP’s work 4 days per week by preference
– Work involves inpatient and outpatient services
– Full licensed medical team and support staff
– See about 12-15 patients per day
– Comfortable doing/learning chemotherapy education/consent visits, survivorship visits, treatment toxicity checks, lab reviews, support triage with urgent patient management issues, and understand practice in a COLLABORATIVE state (versus supervisory)
– Could learn/do bone marrow biopsies after competency confirmed (additional compensation).

Essential Job Functions
• Contributes to physician’s effectiveness by identifying short-term and long-range patient care issues.
• Provides information and commentary to the care team that is pertinent to clinical deliberations.
• Recommends options and courses of action.
• Implements physician directives.
• Assesses patient health by interviewing patients; performing physical examinations; obtaining, updating, and studying medical histories.
• Instructs and counsels patients by describing treatment regimens.
• Orders diagnostic tests, and laboratory studies; interpreting test results.
• Prescribes and refills medications and oncology treatments.
• Documents patient care services by charting in patient and department records.
• Rounds on patients in the hospital.
• Performs bone marrow biopsies as trained and declared competent.
• Manages chemotherapy and immune therapy toxicities.
• Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
• Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
• Participates in advanced care planning.
• General management of primary care issues related to hematology/oncology.

REQUIREMENTS:
• National certification as ANP, FNP, GNP or PA-C
• Current DEA license preferred
• Strong technical/computer skills and EMR experience
• Candidates who may be considered:
     – Oncology experience APP 
     – Experienced APP willing to learn oncology 
     – New APPs with Oncology RN experience 

HOURS REQUIRED/SCHEDULE:
Full-time at 4/10s or 5/8s
Clinic is open M-F 7-5:30

Additional compensation offered for extra shifts:
– evening call coverage for clinic calls
– weekend inpatient rounding/coverage

COMPENSATION:
Range- $130,506.35
