Practice Overview

A multi-site hospital system is seeking a Board Certified / Board Eligible Emergency Medicine Physician for a nocturnist role in a busy, well-supported Emergency Department. The group provides comprehensive emergency care to a diverse community and offers flexible overnight scheduling, stable volume, and strong clinical and administrative support.

Emergency Medicine Team

  • 30+ Emergency Medicine physicians and APPs in an integrated department

  • Focus areas include EMS, Ultrasound, International Emergency Medicine, Wilderness Medicine, and Quality & Patient Safety

  • Residents from a nearby training program rotate through the ED, providing academic and teaching opportunities

  • All sites use a single EHR platform for seamless patient care

Schedule & Hours

  • Core schedule: 24–32 clinical hours per week

  • Overnight/nocturnist shifts with substantial differential

  • Weekends required, with flexibility in structure:

    • Option A: 28 hours per week with 1 weekend per month

    • Option B: 24 hours per week with 2 weekends per month

  • Physicians have meaningful input into scheduling and site assignment

Requirements

  • MD or DO (or foreign equivalent)

  • Completion of an ACGME-accredited Emergency Medicine residency

  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine (ABEM/AOBEM)

  • Eligible for unrestricted medical license in Massachusetts
